Hi everyone,

I am very happy to announce that we are once again able to sponsor the Perl Toolchain Summit!

The Perl Toolchain Summit is an annual invitation-only event where core developers of the programming language Perl meet for a few days to work on the infrastructure and tools behind the language. That type of work is of course always on-going via online dialog, but getting the core contributors together at a single location offers an invaluable chance to accelerate things. It’s especially fitting that we sponsor this year as the event will be held in Germany, in Leipzig in early May.

Perl is an integral part of our business because it is an excellent (come would say the best, and who are we to disagree?) tool for manipulation of text, which is what we spend a lot fo time doing as we wrangle geodata into form.

We are very thankful to our customers for making it possible for us to again support the Perl community in this way.

I had the chance to write an article on Perl.com last summer talking about how we use Perl, and how we try to do our part to give back to the community. This is in addition to all the work we do to give back to the open data and open geospatial communitiy.

Best wishes for a productive few days to all of the PTS attendees,

Ed, (CPAN id EDF)

FInal note: if you want to access our geocoding API via Perl, check out Geo::Coder::OpenCage. Here’s our Perl tutorial.

Final final note: If sponsorship is your thing we also again sponsored FOSSGIS, which is coming up in two weeks. See you there.
