Hi all,

I recently joined OpenCage as operations manager, and one of the things that excites me most is seeing the range of customers who rely on accurate location data every day, especially logistics companies moving goods around the world.

My fascination with global trade started long before OpenCage. In 2015, I traveled as one of two passengers aboard a working cargo ship, passing through the Kiel Canal on the way to Poland. Experiencing navigation and coordination firsthand left me with a great appreciation for timing and precision.

That curiosity has stayed with me. I enjoy spending time around ports and railways, riding city ferries in Hamburg alongside massive container ships, filming long cargo trains, or exploring places like Berlin’s Westhafen, which I once photographed with a journalist friend who had exclusive access.

These experiences constantly remind me how fundamental reliable location data is to how the world works. At OpenCage, it is motivating to support customers, each using location data in different ways, but all relying on it to make sense of movement, place, and connection.
