Hi everyone,

just a small update to let you know that we are now returning the following HTTP header when your browser visits our sites (our homepage, this blog, and the Geomob site):

Permissions-Policy: interest-cohort=()

This change tells browsers not to use your visit to our sites to build up a profile of you for advertising tracking, as part of Google’s new “Federated Learning of Cohorts (FLoC)”. We hate tracking which is why we don’t use Google analytics on our sites, and so it seems natural that we also opt users of our site out of FLoC.

If you want to learn all the technical details of FLoC, our friends at Fathom Analytics have written a lengthy overview.

As always you can see a full overview of our privacy policy on our GDPR page.

Happy geocoding,

Ed
