we have made a change to our free trial accounts.
Previously, inactive free trial accounts (as defined by not logging into their account dashboard or making an API request) were deleted after 180 days. We have now reduced this to 90 days.
We realized that if someone had not tested the service for 90 days, the odds that they would come back in the next 90 days were very, very slim. And if they do want to test again they can simply sign up again in about two minutes.
By making this change we’re able to significantly reduce the number of user email addresses we hold. We don’t use these addresses in any way and don’t have any desire to hold personal information any longer than is needed to make the service useful.
One point worth noting - users can of course delete their account in their account dashboard at any time - no need to wait 90 days.
